West and East Midlands Clinical Networks collaborated to commission a Health and Justice CAMHS Transformation Report, produced by KPMG in April 2016.

This report and the recommendations it contains forms the basis of the West Midlands Clinical Networks Health and Justice work stream from 2016/17 onwards. This work stream considers the needs of some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the West Midlands and links directly with the key themes and recommendations of ‘Future in Mind’. Please click the image to access a pdf version of the report.

One of the key recommendations of the report is that end to end pathway mapping needs to take place across systems across the West Midlands. Each Clinical Network has been allocated funding to support the Health and Justice work streams and the 16/17 funding will be used to undertake this mapping exercise and engage with local stakeholders, including holding various events and workshops. We are pleased that North of England Commissioning Support Unit have been successful in their bid to undertake this work and more detail about this project can be found here.

West Midlands Clinical Networks are also working closely with Health and Justice and Specialised Commissioning colleagues to support the national and local work contributing to two of the three workstreams of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health, Health and Justice and Specialised Commissioning Transformation Programme. We hope to host a full time Quality Improvement Manager secondment from the Health and Justice team from April 2017. The post holder will be part of the Clinical Network CYP MH team and work closely with CCGs, Local Authorities and education to ensure that Health and Jusitce transformation is embedded within Local Transformation Plans and commissioning intentions and that all relevant stakeholders are fully engaged and involved in local work.
