Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, Non-executive Directors x2

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is the principal provider of community-based health services to the 1.2 million people in Hertfordshire, also providing services in West Essex.  Rated Good by the CQC, the Trust plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care closer to home.

The Trust is now seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to join the Board to provide support, constructive challenge, oversight, scrutiny, leadership and strategic direction.

Essential criteria

You will need to have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services.  You will have senior level experience in one or more of the following areas:

Role 1:

  • Recent and relevant, senior level financial experience in a large and complex organisation with the capacity to chair the Audit and Risk Committee. Applicants should ideally hold a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
  • We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with a wider range of experiences that may include senior commercial experience at a strategic level in digital transformation, AI or data security.

Role 2:

  • Recent and relevant, senior level clinical and patient safety experience gained within medical, nursing, allied health, social care or VCSFE sector in an academic, research, regulatory or clinically focussed role, with a strong service delivery background.
  • An understanding of the current Quality agenda in the NHS and the assurance processes necessary to deliver safe and effective clinical governance, with the capacity to chair the Quality Committee.

The best boards are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve.  We particularly welcome applications from women, people from local black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles.
