Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, Non-executive Director x2
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is the principal provider of community-based health services to the 1.2 million people in Hertfordshire, also providing services in West Essex. Rated Good by the CQC, the Trust plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care closer to home.
Having successfully recruited to one Non-executive Director post earlier this year, the Trust is now seeking to appoint two new Non-executive Directors to join the Board to provide support, constructive challenge, oversight, scrutiny, leadership and strategic direction.
Essential criteria
One role is focused on financial leadership and assurance, where an individual would have the skills and experience required to chair the Audit and Risk Committee. Prior experience of having worked at a senior and/or strategic level, either in an executive or non-executive capacity, for a large and complex organisation, irrespective of sector, is essential.
The second role is for a Non-executive Director who will ideally chair our Strategy, Involvement and Planning Committee, and our Charitable Funds Committee. Board/strategic level experience in either the private, public or VCFSE sector will be beneficial as well as having a deep understanding of public health, population health, addressing inequalities and the broader EDI agenda.
For either role, additional experience in digital transformation, AI or data security might be beneficial.
What unites both roles is a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent, safe and equitable healthcare services.
A strong connection to Hertfordshire or the surrounding area is highly desirable.
As a future NHS leader, the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that they meet the NHS leadership competency framework for board members (please see the candidate information pack below for the six domains). The competency domains are aligned to Our NHS People Promise, Our Leadership Way and the Seven Principles of Public Life (Nolan Principles).
The best boards are those that reflect the workforce and communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from women, people from local black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and people with disabilities, who we know are all under-represented in these important roles.
