What will be your duties and responsibilities over Christmas?

Our Trust’s charity, Health Stars, will be working up to and over the Christmas period to bring joy to all our inpatient units and those patients with us during the festive period. Health Stars has launched some special campaigns to support patients across the Trust. We have given ourselves the target of giving a gift to every inpatient staying in our services over Christmas – this is around 250 gifts. Our communities have been so generous, donating gifts through our Amazon wishlist or donating money through our Just Giving page so we can purchase presents we know our patients will enjoy.

Will there be a special sense of job satisfaction from caring for patients over the festive season?

I’m looking forward to playing Father Christmas for a couple of days in December and delivering the presents to our patients. Being in hospital at any point of the year can be a lonely experience, so hopefully our gifts will bring some joy to those having to spend Christmas away from their homes and their families.
