Specialised Services Commissioning – 2013 Clinical Reference Groups

Specialised services commissioning: 2013 Clinical Reference Group membership

The NHS Commissioning Board has opened registration for membership of the 2013 Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs) which support directly commissioned specialised services. Recruitment is currently open for chairs and clinical members. Further recruitment of non-clinical members will follow shortly.

The closing date for applications for the role of chairs is 25 January 2013, with the first round of recruitment for clinical members closing on 31 January 2013.

A guide to CRGs, aimed primarily at clinical staff, provides background information about the CRGs and an introduction to the work programme for the groups for the coming year. A supplementary guide for stakeholders, including patients and the public, will be published shortly to support the next round of recruitment.

I am having trouble working out in which clinical reference group the fields of craniofacial surgery (previously a NSCT service) and specialist skin cancer are in. Can someone please advise accordingly.

      Hi
Thank you for your comment. Craniofacial surgery will be in the Paediatric Surgery clinical reference group and skin cancer is in Specialised Cancer.

      Kind regards

        Dear Simon

My role is Northern Burn Care Network Manager. One of our clinical members has contacted me to say they have been on the NHSCB website with a view to registering their interest in being a member of the Burns CRG. They have queried why the post of Chair isn’t vacant as per all the other CRGs. Are you able to clarify for me.

        Many thanks

        Jayne

          Hi Jayne
Thank you for your comment. You can find details of which which clinical reference group (CRG) Chair posts are vacant on the CRG memberships page, in the list of filled and vacant positions document. The current Chairs were asked if they would like to continue in their role and Burns CRG was one of these.

          Kind regards
          Simon
