Pathology networks toolkit

To help NHS providers implement their pathology network and to enable the NHS to share best practice, we are developing a toolkit of how to guides and templates.

We expect the NHS to deliver high-quality, good value pathology services to patients by delivering these services through a series of hub and bespoke pathology networks across the country. As we continue to learn more about the challenges networks are facing, we will add further products to this toolkit including case studies to showcase exemplar networking.

We continue to work with the Pathology Board which includes members from Health Education England, the Pathology Alliance including the Royal College of Pathologists and the Institute of Biomedical Science to shape these support documents.

All the toolkit products have been developed in conjunction with pathology and industry experts, using lessons learned from examples of successful and unsuccessful networks. We expect the executive teams across providers in their pathology network to use these products based on their local needs.
