These Standing Financial Instructions form part of our Governance Manual. Together with documents, such as the Standing Orders and Scheme of Delegation, they fulfil the dual role of protecting our interests and protecting Officers from possible accusation that they have acted less than properly (provided that Officers have followed the correct procedures outlined in the relevant document).

They are designed to ensure that our financial transactions are carried out in accordance with the law and government policy in order to achieve probity, accuracy, economy, efficiency and effectiveness.
