Sam is a Supply Chain Manager at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where a riverboat delivery service is transforming the Trust’s climate footprint and improving care.

The twice daily riverboat delivery service transports vital medical supplies up the River Thames, replacing three delivery trucks that cover around 1,500 miles a week, and speeding up deliveries. The riverboat is also run on HVO fuel, which produces lower greenhouse gas emissions.

This service forms a key part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030, and to remove over 40,000 truck deliveries from central London roads each year.
