Children and young people

Our ambition is to support CCGs to work with partners to build effective mental health services for children and young people.

We aim to transform mental health services by 2020, with an ambition of putting mental health on an equal footing to physical health.

Take a MOment

From Handlebar and Dali to Lampshade and Zapata – men across the UK are styling their facial hair for Movember – the annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of men’s health issues.

At NHS England, Claire Murdoch and Professor Tim Kendall are supporting the campaign by calling on men of all ages to talk about their mental health. In this distinctive mustachioed message, which includes details of where to go for support, their call to action is ‘Come forward to talk about your mental health, and ask for help if you think you, a loved one or friend needs it.’

If you’re worried about someone, don’t wait for them to talk to you. Start an honest conversation with them: try saying, ‘You don’t seem to be yourself – are you OK?’ Then listen.
