General Practice Forward View – implementation events

NHS England is running a series of half day events providing an opportunity to meet with national and regional primary care leaders to discuss the General Practice Forward View (GPFV) and its implications for local plans. Many questions remain for system leaders about issues relating to the detail and timescales, particularly as clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and local medical councils (LMCs) talk together about plans for stabilising and transforming primary care in their area.

The events give local commissioners and providers the chance to quiz national and regional primary care leads about the GPFV, to hear about the implementation plans and consider the implications for yourselves. Each event will be joined by NHS England local team colleagues

Afternoon event (12:30 – 17:30)

This agenda is for leaders from CCGs, LMCs and sustainability and transformation (STP) teams. The focus will be on reviewing existing local plans in the context of national updates and offers. You will have the opportunity to hear the latest from the national and regional team, discuss the implications and share challenges and solutions.

Evening event (19:00 – 21:15)

This agenda is aimed at clinicians and managers from practices themselves. LMCs, CCGs and NHS England local teams are also invited. We will look in more detail at the practical changes that can be made to release time and improve care in general practice. This will include the latest information about the national general practice development programme and how practices can make best use of it.
