Ambitions for end of life care

Dr Paula Powell, Clinical Lead, Cheshire and Merseyside Palliative and End of Life Care Clinical Network said: “The Cheshire and Merseyside Palliative and End of Life Care Clinical Network works with clinical and commissioning  colleagues to reduce variation and promote equity and excellence in end of life care to support people to live well before dying with peace and dignity in the place of their choice.

To support localities to meet the Ambitions for Palliative and End of Life Care (2nd Edition) framework the network commissioned a self-assessment framework, which was updated in 2021, along with the Ambitions guidance (note: the framework should be downloaded).

The framework will enable localities to score their end of life care services against each ambition. This will provide an opportunity for each locality to meet, self-assess and provide a benchmark to improve end of life care services in their local area.
