The impact of listening – University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust

A significant part of recovery is to provide listening support following traumatic events, such as COVID-19, to connect, provide comfort and support as well as enable a route for growth and development.

This case study describes how the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust set up one-hour sessions for their staff,  facilitated by organisational design consultants. They captured themes – what went well, areas for improvement and thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

As a result of this, RESPOND, a 24/7 confidential listening service, was set up to support staff.
