NHSmail for the dental team
The Office of the Chief Dental Officer England is working with arms-length bodies to roll out NHSmail access to all oral healthcare professionals.
What is NHSmail?
NHSmail is the national email and collaboration service for health and care in England enabling dentistry professionals to share information securely and collaborate with other health and care practitioners. Initially, an email address will be created for the practice; after this is activated, individual accounts can be requested through the online portal.
Using the online portal you enter the practice details and a practice email address will be generated. As part of the sign up, 10 email addresses can be created for associates etc. It is also possible to request named email addresses after the sign up process has been completed.
NHSmail accounts will enable information governance-assured, appropriately encrypted communication between all primary care dental practices.
This service is free to all NHS, private and mixed practices and ensures compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Further details of how to register can be found on the NHSmail website.
