GP Patient Survey Dental Statistics

NHS England, together with Ipsos MORI, publish Official Statistics from the GP Patient Survey. The questions ask about patients’ access to and experience of their GP practice and other NHS services, as well as some questions about their general health. The main findings in relation to GPs are published on the GP Patient Survey website.

NHS England undertakes additional analysis of the dental section of the survey, combining questions to get more of an understanding of dental access and behaviours. This additional information, based on people’s reported experience, are used to assess whether NHS England commissioners were meeting the local demand for NHS dentistry and identify opportunities to improve access and quality.
