NHS England’s end of life care partners

NHS England is working with the government and partners from across the health and care system to improve palliative and end of life care across the country.

NHS England is a member of the National Palliative and End of Life Care Partnership, and jointly developed the system-wide Ambitions for palliative and end of life care: a national framework for local action 2015-20 (Ambitions framework).

NHS England is also working with the government and partners across the health and care system to deliver the End of Life Care Commitment. The government made a six-point commitment, which amplifies, in particular, the first Ambition: each person is seen as an individual.

In September 2017, the government published a One Year On Report that summarises the progress made in implementing the End of Life Care Commitment after one year.
