Who we work with

NHS England are working with Government, partners from across the health and care system, voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) partners and people with lived experience, to improve palliative and end of life care across the country.

We are a member of the National Palliative and End of Life Care Ambitions Partnership, and jointly developed the system-wide Ambitions for palliative and end of life care: a national framework for local action 2021-26, which was refreshed in May 2021. We are also working with the government and partners across the health and care system to deliver the End of Life Care Commitment. The government made a six-point commitment, which particularly highlights:

  • Ambition one – each person is seen as an individual.
  • Ambition four – care is coordinated.
