Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) working in the cancer pathway

The term Allied Health professionals (AHP’s) is used to describe a  group of workforce not usually associated with the cancer pathway and are made up of 13 professionals groups including  Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language therapists (amongst others). However, they are increasingly being brought in to see cancer patients during their recovery phase and also as a result of “consequences of treatment” , as improved outcomes mean cancer becomes more and more accepted as a long term condition.
