    Hello

Please could you advise where the job descriptions and full advert for the VSM roles can be found?

    Many thanks.

    • glisle says:

Hi Paul. Further details relating to each VSM role are being forwarded to HR departments of relevant organisations where they will be cascaded down to eligible employees. If any staff think that they are eligible for a role but have not received a cascade email, they should get in-touch with their HR Manager.

  2. Nik Kennedy says:

Hi, im a previous PCT employee who is now currently working within the private sector, i had a chance meeting with the Chair of Blackpool PCT who has explained in great detail about CCG and i am very keen to get back within the NHS. this sounds like exciting times.

I have been looking on the NHS jobs Website but not much seems to be coming through just yet,

Is there any way i could get my foot in the door so to speak?

I have recently uploaded a Linked in profile http://uk.linkedin.com/in/nkennedy01
Feel free to have a look.

Any comments / ideas would be of great help as i do not want to just sit back and let this opportunity slip by.

    • Simon@NHS CBA says:

      Hi Nik
Thank you very much for your comment, and your interest in working for your local Clinical Commissioning Group. Individual CCGs are responsible for their own recruitment, and any vacancies will be advertised on the NHS jobs website as they become available. In the meantime, if you wanted to get involved in influencing the way your local health services are run you could join a patient participation group at your local GP practice or the Blackpool Local Involvement Network.
We appreciate you getting in touch!
      Kind regards
      Simon

  3. Margaret says:

    Dear Sir David

I have today tried to apply for the role of Director of Human Resources advertised by a confidential recruiter on completing the information I was informed that in order to apply I had to be a full member at a cost of £100.

Please can you advice if this is the only way to apply for this role.

  4. Sarah Morries-Bates says:

We have recently had our future role revalidated from being CCG, CSU and NCB to just NCB and are wondering where job opportunities will be posted and when any jobs band 6 – 8a are likely to be posted.

  5. Jacqui says:

I have just seen the positions for ” Local Area Team Director” on the HSJ, although the job posts were at the end of August, it states that this job has expired.
There is no closing date for applications on the listing, has this date passed or is it is still possible to apply?
    Thank you for your time.

    Jacqui

    • Simon@NHSCB says:

      Hi Jacqui
Thank you for your question. You can find all our current vacancies on the NHS Jobs website, if the job is no longer listed on that website then the closing date for applications will have passed.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  6. Mike Parks says:

    Sirs
do you have a requirement for ‘lay’ people as part of NHS CB?
    Regards
    MJP

    • Simon@NHSCB says:

      Dear Mike
Thank you very much for your question.

As the NHSCB develops and agrees the processes for citizen voice there will be other opportunities coming up in the future so we are keeping details of people who would like to be involved at a later date.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  7. Fiona says:

No wonder you are having a hard time recruiting people. its too complicated and hidden. You need to make it more transparent and straightforward otherwise you’ll be missing out on some amazing talent you could hire.

  8. Ravi Patel says:

    Hi

Their does not seem to be any patient representation on the board or local boards, Are you going to be recruiting any patients/customer of the services to be represented on the boards? as the new structure is meant to be Patient Centered!

    Look forward to your reply.

    Thank you

    • Simon@NHSCB says:

      Hi Ravi
Thank you for your comment. The NHS Commissioning Board is committed to giving public and patient voices the opportunity to work collaboratively with professionals, in shaping the future of our NHS, e.g lay assessors taking part in the Clinical Commissioning Group authorisation process.

As the NHS CB develops and agrees the processes for citizen voice, there will be opportunities for patients and members of the public to get involved coming up in the future.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  9. sunny vern says:

    hello,

i am at moment with nhs trust but where i live is 2 hour commute. but the post i am working similar post available to the nhs trust close to my home. i just want to know can nhs staff get transfer to different nhs trust ?

    thanks

    • Simon@NHSCB says:

      Hi
Thank you for your question. As NHS trusts are independent organisations, if a similar position became available at another NHS trust you’d need to apply for the post through the NHS Jobs website rather than being able to transfer from one NHS trust to another.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  10. Jaded says:

    Hi
I currently work for a NHS trust in Lancashire, we have not received any guidance regarding the future of Child Health from our commissioning support unit, there is no published structure for Child Health. Is child health part of a national structure, or will it be down to individual CSU’s to make a decision on whether or not they will commission this service? If so, how can CSU’s have submitted a final business plan, when there are still functions they have not accounted for?

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi
Thank you for your question. Commissioning of child health will be the responsibility of individual clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), and they will decide what support they need in order to carry out their commissioning responsibilities.

Commissioning support units (CSUs) will provide the supporting infrastructure to enable CCGs to make the right decisions and support them in their commissioning duties. For more specific information, you may prefer to contact your local CCG.

      Kind regards
      Simon

      • Helen says:

Simon, the guidance you attached does not say that CCGs are responsible for child health per se. It says the NHSCB is responsible for child health info systems and that local authorities are responsible for healthy child programmes.

        • Simon@NHS CB says:

          Hi Helen
Thank you very much for your reply. Clinical Commissioning Groups will be responsible for commissioning children’s health care services (mental and physical health), there is more detailed information on the services which will be commissioned by CCGs and the NHS CB in our latest fact sheet for CCGs.

          Kind regards
          Simon

  11. Amrit Reyat says:

    Hi

I would like to know if you will be considering posts for a Complaints function for patients?
Has the Board decided on structures for this and if so when will the posts be advertised?

    Thank you

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Amrit
Thank you for your comment and your interest in complaints functions for the NHS Commissioning Board (NHS CB). I confirm we are in the process of developing how the NHS CB will deliver key functions such as customer contact, which would include complaints and the necessary resources.

In relation to current recruitment, the NHS CB is following the nationally agreed processes for filling posts. Once any job matching is completed all remaining jobs are advertised via the NHS Jobs website.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  12. Jackie says:

    Hello

Can you tell me when we can expect the Job Descriptions for the Local Area Team jobs please. And when we can expect the matching process to begin.

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Jackie
Thank you for your comment. Job descriptions are being completed this month, and we are hoping that sending organisations will be able to complete job matching by the end of November at the latest. Your organisation’sl HR team should be able to confirm the local timetable.

      Kind regards
      Simon

      • Beckie W says:

HI Simon, can I ask, relating to Jackie’s question when will the LAT jobs be advertised for which there is no matching and pooling and these jobs will be filled by ringfenced compertition??

There is so much focus in this whole process on people who are being ‘matched and pooled’ that the people who currently have nowhere to go are becoming incredibly frustrated as all they have to look forward to is uncertainty, redundancy and poor communicaton.

        • Simon@NHS CB says:

          Hi Beckie
Thank you for your comment. This whole process of filling posts in this transition is guided by the policy document on filling posts.

Local area team jobs are currently being job matched where it is agreed that there is a function transfer. Job matching is being co-ordinated by Strategic Health Authority (SHA) clusters and includes SHAs and Primary Care Trusts.

It is important that job matching is conducted fairly and according to the agreed process, which inevitably takes time. Once job matching is complete any posts that are not filled will be advertised for ring-fenced recruitment on the NHS Jobs website. It is hoped that this will start happening this month and carry on throughout November and December if necessary.

Jobs that are not part of a function transfer will be advertised for ring-fenced recruitment. This has already started, and the jobs are advertised on the NHS Jobs website.

If you would like more information about this process and an update of your local position, the HR team in your employing organisation will be able to help you.

          Kind regards
          Simon

  13. Elizabeth Cannings says:

    Hello

I currently do not work for the NHS but I have 13 years experience in admin and customer service working in the private sector. I am looking for a change and have been looking for jobs within the NHS for a few months now. It seems like a really exiting time to join the company and I would love to have a job which provides such obvious and immediate job satisfaction. Am I able to apply for the roles that are currently being advertised as an external candidate?

    Many thanks

    Elizabeth

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Elizabeth
Thank you for your question and your interest in working in the NHS. You can find all current vacancies, which you can apply for, on the NHS Jobs website.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  14. Ashley says:

I am interested in one of the LAT jobs currently advertised but do not know the precise geographical area covered or the location of the base/s ( this is not made clear in the advert or the job description) is there a central resource giving this information? My specific interest is the Kent and Medway LAT as I am soon to move to the Thanet area.

  15. John Appleby-Fleming says:

I am currently intereseted in a post you have advertised through NHS jobs. Could you tell me i if your posts in central London attract the higher cost allowance for London and do you provide help with season tickets?.
    Kind regards. John

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi John
Thank you for your comment. The NHS CB posts in central London attract High Cost Area Supplement, and no decision has been taken yet regarding season tickets.

      Kind regards
      Simon

  16. David says:

    Hi,

As a DH employee – where can i find advertised posts?

Also, what are the chances ot taking accrued year’s service to the CB from civil service employment?

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi David
Thank you for your comment. The NHS CB will consider requests from individuals for relevant non-NHS service to be recognised in line with the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook. Service from the DH is considered relevant for this purpose.

      Kind regards
      Simon

    • Simon@NHS CB says:

      Hi Mohammed
