Children and young people’s emotional health and well-being

The Future in Mind report (2015) identified the need for improving children and young people’s mental health and well-being by promoting resilience, prevention, early intervention and improving access to effective support. Correspondingly the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health implementation plan (2016) set the objective that by 2021, at least 70,000 additional children and young people each year will receive evidence-based treatment through increased access to NHS-funded community services nationally. The Clinical Network brings together local transformation leads from Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authority, Mental Health Services, Health Education England, Public Health England and Specialised Commissioning to steer and drive regional service transformation. A number of work streams have been established to help improve services for children and young people in line with national guidance.
