Opportunities to find out more

NHS England and the UK Government have launched a programme to develop a number of ‘test beds’ that will serve as real world sites for evaluating ‘combinatorial’ innovations that integrate new technologies with new ways of delivering health services – and that offer the prospect of better care, and better patient experience of care, at lower overall cost.

NHS England is organising a series of briefing sessions about the programme to provide information on the programme vision, requirements and application process followed by a Q&A session. There are different ways to participate depending on whether you are an innovator or an NHS/social care organisation:

Innovators interested in testing their innovations in the NHS are invited to attend either:

  • Innovator briefing event in London May 21
  • Innovator briefing webinar May 27

To receive a copy of the presentation delivered at the Test Beds Briefing sessions please email england.innovation@nhs.net.

NHS or social care organisations interested in becoming a test bed site where these innovations will be trialed are invited to attend a Q&A teleconference on either:

  • 28 May
  • 1 June

These sessions are informative and not part of the application process. They are to provide an opportunity to ask questions about the programme.

Innovator Briefing Event 21 May overview:

  • Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of NHS England, will share his vision for the Test Bed Programme and it’s role within the NHS Five Year Forward View.
  • Test Bed Programme leaders will explain the application process and requirements.
  • NHS leaders from potential test bed sites will dig deeper into their specific challenges and needs.
  • A Q&A session will give innovators an opportunity to ask any questions they have about the programme.
