- Building the Right Support: Finance frequently asked questions (updated September 2016) – this provides frequently asked questions on financial arrangements to support commissioners and Transforming Care Partnerships in their planning process, these replace the original FAQs.

- Dynamic Support Register and Care (Education) and Treatment Review: Policy and Guidance (published January 2023) – this document outlines what Dynamic Support Registers are, what a Care (Education) and Treatment Review (C(E)TR) is, what it should involve, when it should be used and the required standards for CTRs.
- C(E)TR guidance and tools for commissioners, panels and people providing care (published January 2023) – this toolkit has a range of materials to support commissioners on Care (Education) and Treatment Reviews, and includes information in easy read for people with a learning disability, autistic people and their families.
- Winterbourne View – Time for Change (published November 2014) – this report was commissioned by NHS England and outlines Sir Stephen Bubb’s recommendations to transform the commissioning of services for people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Improving health
- Guidance to support implementation of the Mental Capacity Act in acute trusts for adults with a learning disability
- 2015/16 General Medical Services (GMS) contract guidance for GMS contract 2015/16 – this is guidance for GP practices on implementing the General Medical Services contract for 2015/16, including the health checks for people with learning disabilities.
- Reducing premature mortality in people with Learning Disabilities: Effective interventions and reasonable adjustments – this is joint guidance from NHS England and Improving Health and Lives Learning Disabilities Observatory on making reasonable adjustments to acute hospital and primary care services, for people with learning disabilities.
- Letter about joint Health and Social Care Learning Disability Self-Assessment Framework 2015 (published November 2015) – this letter outlines changes to the Joint Health and Social Care Learning Disability Self-Assessment Framework for people with learning disabilities.
- Clinicians’ letter – This is a template letter which clinicians can use to inform GPs about patients with a learning disability, to ensure young people with SEND are included on the GP register of learning disability, where appropriate. This means they are automatically called for an annual health check from the age of 14, and that reasonable adjustments can be made when the person attends other health settings.
- Parents’ letter – This is a template letter which parents/carers can also use to ask their GP to ensure their child is added to the GP register.
