The Army’s Bordon Garrison relocated to Wiltshire in 2015, providing an opportunity for transformation through development and large scale regeneration on the Hampshire/Surrey border. Whitehill & Bordon’s transformation is led by a strong collaborative partnership. The partnership shares a vision for an economically prosperous and healthy town set in a beautiful natural environment.
A new town centre Health Campus that builds upon the South Eastern Hampshire CCG “MCP Vanguard” initiative will be delivered in 2019. This will bring primary, community and adult social care together with specialists from local hospitals and third sector organisations to work as a single team, providing better local care. This enables development opportunities from existing NHS estate in Whitehill & Bordon to be realised.
As a Healthy New Town, our partnership wants to work with world leading experts to further enhance ambitious plans for using the built and natural environment to improve health and wellbeing.
We want to access the latest innovative design and technology to encourage healthy weights, minds and lifestyles. This will reduce the prevalence of long term conditions and promote independence and social inclusion in the ageing population. We will support those with long term conditions to manage their own care through both digital innovation and a network of community and voluntary sector support. People living in Whitehill & Bordon will live more healthily and independently for longer, with reduced need for health and social care provision.
