Asthma Campaigns

#AskAboutAsthma 2025 Campaign

#AskAboutAsthma returns for its ninth year, led by the NHS England – London Babies, Children and Young People’s team. The campaign is about making simple changes to children and young people’s care that will make a big difference to how they experience their asthma.

This year’s campaign runs from 8 to 11 September and the theme is One year on from the National Child Mortality Database report: How can we prevent asthma deaths? focused on how systems are responding to the NCMD’s findings and recommendations, showcasing great practices and identifying further actions to keep children well.

The campaign is timed ahead of week 38, known as the ‘September Spike’, when asthma attacks rise after school resumes after the summer holidays. Below you will find campaign messages and resources to help you prepare for this period. The week of learning takes place from 8 September 2025.

Key messages

  • Asthma still tragically claims young lives. Most asthma deaths are preventable.
  • Directly addressing the preventable factors would mean improved control and better quality of life for all children and young people (CYP) with asthma.
  • Children and young people with asthma should be supported to manage their condition in all areas of their lives – at home, school/college, and in the community.
