Community development and resources
NHS England are working collaboratively with the wellbeing guardian community to provide guidance and community support. Below are some of the resources in place to support you in the function as a wellbeing guardian.
Personal development
Please access the resources available on the NHS Executive Suite which contains a variety of personal executive/senior leadership development resources to support you as a senior leader to thrive in the position and set a culture that values the importance of health and wellbeing.
Community development
Please connect with your regional NHS England health and wellbeing lead (see regional wellbeing guardian networks). They will be able to add you to your regional wellbeing guardian community network.

- The NHS people plan illustrates the entire people agenda and how wellbeing sits at the heart of this.
- The Wellbeing guardian summary implementation guide provides further information about the wellbeing guardian function and expectations. Please note this guidance will be regularly reviewed to ensure it stays relevant as the function of wellbeing guardians continues to embed and grow across all NHS organisations. Make sure to check back or link in with your regional health and wellbeing lead who can advise you on any guidance changes.

This forms part of our ambition for a proactive culture of wellbeing within our NHS people plan and people promise.

- National health and wellbeing programmes of work. The NHS people plan and the NHS people promise outline several key programmes that are in place to assist organisations to develop a culture of wellbeing, in which their workforce feel supported and well at work.
- Support available for our NHS people. There are a range of additional support offers in place for our NHS colleagues which suit a range of different health and wellbeing needs.
- NHS workforce stress and the supportive organisation: a framework for improvement through reflection, curiosity and change. This document provides a framework to help understand the elements of the organisational experience that can impact on staff psychological wellbeing.
