Our research shows that people find it helpful and reassuring when they see the NHS Identity applied to primary care services. Therefore, whilst dentists are not contractually required to use the NHS Identity, they are encouraged to do so to raise awareness of the NHS services they provide and to signpost patients and the public to them.

How do we brand NHS services provided by a third party?
Our research shows that patients and the public expect all NHS services to be clearly branded with the NHS identity, regardless of who the provider is. This is so that it’s clear to people that it is an NHS funded service which meets NHS quality standards.
