Charlotte Morley, Lead Practitioner, Urgent Treatment Centre and Clinical Transformation Lead, Haslemere Long Term Conditions Hub, Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust

Charlotte Morley is passionate about building NHS services that meet the needs of local people in the community.

Under her leadership, the former Minor Injuries Unit at Haslemere Hospital has been redesignated as an Urgent Treatment Centre, enabling the team to treat a broader range of conditions. In addition to minor injuries such as sprains, fractures, cuts and burns, the service now manages a variety of minor illnesses, including infections, rashes and abdominal pain, allowing more patients to access timely care locally without travelling to Guildford.

Alongside the expansion of urgent care services, Charlotte is leading a wider transformation programme focused on strengthening community-based care. This includes the development of a dedicated long-term conditions hub, with an initial focus on cardiology and heart failure, as well as integrated neighbourhood teams that bring together health and care professionals to provide more coordinated support for local residents.

“I’m passionate about these changes because they are helping us build services around the needs of local people. By supporting people earlier and providing more care closer to home, we can help them stay well and access the right care at the right time,” says Charlotte.

“Not only will this improve people’s quality of life, this approach creates a more connected healthcare system, reducing pressure on our acute hospital services.”

Charlotte’s work is taking forward the shift from hospital to community and Haslemere Hospital, a community hospital, is playing a central role in transforming local healthcare –  by shifting from a traditional hospital-based model to one that brings more services closer to patients’ homes.
