Artist, illustrator and author Charlie Mackesy marks the NHS’s 75th

Much loved British artist, illustrator and author Charlie Mackesy has penned a special illustration (pictured) to celebrate the NHS’s 75th anniversary.

Mackesy is the author of the internationally bestselling book The Boy, the Fox and the Horse and his illustrations have brought comfort to many and been shared online around the world. Earlier this year, the animated adaption of his beloved book won Best Animated Short at the Academy Awards.

Charlie Mackesy said: “Happy 75th birthday to the NHS. This illustration is for all of the NHS staff and volunteers who are brave and amazing … and do so much for us every day.”

The illustration is available to buy with profits going to charity.

Charlie added: “There is a print of the illustration which you can buy if you’d like one – all of the profits will be going to NHS Charities Together, who support the NHS workforce and improve care for everyone in the UK.”
