Patient initiated follow-up activity data
The ‘provider elective recovery outpatient collection (EROC)’ requires NHS providers to submit monthly aggregated PIFU activity. This is a national data collection established in August 2021 to collate information from providers relating to their implementation of PIFU in outpatient services.
For the purposes of this publication, PIFU activity includes the number of episodes moved or discharged to a PIFU pathway. They are measured together in recognition that providers can implement different PIFU delivery models.
The England level specialty level data has been aggregated to the treatment functions which capture the main treatment areas in line with existing RTT publications.

The data included here will always include the latest available data as reported by providers. Please note that this can be subject to change as underlying data sources are updated. As this is a relatively new data collection, having launched in August 2021, we advise caution when interpreting these data as we continue to improve data quality.
