(Discontinued) Direct Access Audiology
A consultation on health and social care statistical outputs published by DHSC, NHSBA, UKHSA, ONS and NHS England opened in December 2023. The outcome of the consultation was published on 21 November 2024 and included the announcement of the decision to discontinue this collection permanently. In March 2020, the collection was suspended due to the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) and the need to release capacity across the NHS to support the response therefore data for February 2020 is the last release of this collection.
A range of alternative sources of information on audiology waits are available as follows:
- Information on patients waiting for community audiology services, as part of the Community health services waiting lists publication
- Information on waiting times for audiology diagnostics, as part of the Diagnostic waiting times and activity publication
- Information from the Hospital episode statistics on referral date and first outpatient attendance date; and on decision to admit date and admission date can be used to derive outpatient and inpatient waits for patients, in particular specialties, with particular diagnoses or undergoing particular procedures
Statistics and information on Direct Access Audiology. This section holds data on the number of referral to treatment (RTT) completed pathways and incomplete pathways for Direct Access Audiology.
