Integrated Urgent Care Aggregate Data Collection (IUCADC including NHS111) Statistics Apr 2024-Mar 2025

Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) describes a range of services including NHS 111 and Out of Hours services, which aim to ensure a seamless patient experience with minimum handoffs and access to a clinician where required.

Access to the IUC landing page can be found here:
Integrated Urgent Care Aggregate Data Collection

Data below includes:

  • IUC ADC Official Statistics
  • IUC ADC Provisional Statistics

Office for National Statistics (ONS) Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) population estimates can be used to create estimates for each Integrated Urgent Care area using mid-year resident population estimates or population projections for that year.  These data can be found here:  Population projections for clinical commissioning groups and NHS regions: Table 3 – Office for National Statistics

IUC ADC – Official Statistics

These data comprise the complete monthly IUC ADC dataset and are published within six weeks after the end of the month to which data refer (eg, April data published in June).  The IUC ADC includes some new data items and some definitions have been revised to provide greater clarity so not all data items are directly comparable with the same data items collected before April 2021.

Revisions
Revisions to IUCADC official statistics for the months April 2023 to March 2024 inclusive were published with the August 2024 data (on 10/10/24).
At the national level the revisions affected the whole period, and each data item has had at least one change.
Some figures referring to 2023/24 in the Statistical Notes or comments in the Data Quality Statements for those months may no longer be relevant where they refer to figures that have since been revised.  Summary of Revisions:  IUC ADC Revisions Summary April 2023-March 2024 (XLSX, 474KB)

IUC ADC – latest provisional statistics

These data are a subset of the complete monthly IUC ADC, focusing on key data items, which are collected weekly and aggregated for publication within two weeks after the collection end date (eg, April data published in May). Provisional figures will only be published one month at a time as these data are subject to change and should be treated as estimates until the complete IUC ADC Official Statistics are published the following month.

NHS111 Patient Experience Survey

The Patient Experience Survey (PES) was introduced in 2011, by the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Service to provide patient feedback about the NHS 111 and IUC service.  Surveys are carried out locally by service provider organisations using a variety of methods (paper, telephone and online).  The results of mandatory questions are published twice a year.

Data Quality
Data for the IUC ADC are provided by lead data providers for each integrated urgent care service in England. It is the responsibility of commissioners of an IUC service to identify lead data providers and ensure that data are supplied each month. While lead data providers are responsible for collating and coordinating information for IUC ADC, they are not necessarily contracted to deliver all NHS 111 and out of hours services in the contract area. Integrated Urgent Care is provided by a variety of organisations, including ambulance services, private companies, not for profit organisations and NHS Trusts. The quality of data in this report is therefore dependent upon all parts of the IUC service supplying data to the relevant lead data provider.

Revisions will be published periodically (usually every six months) in line with NHS England Analytical Service team’s revisions policy.
